American Robins eat insects they find in the leaves

It’s good practice to leave some leaves in the yard in Fall. Maybe under shrubs or in unused areas. Lots of critters depend on these leaves for cover and for finding food that hides in the leaves.

Robins and Varied Thrushes wil flip leaves over as they look for bugs and grubs.

Rough Skinned Newts need leaves for cover.
